Psychopharmacology

Psychiatric medications are an important part of treatment. They can relieve symptoms such as anxiety and depression, and they can make it easier for you to do the things that are important to you.

But all medications have side effects, and different people respond differently to medications, so a drug that's helpful to one person may be ineffective, or even harmful, to another. And sometimes, the best treatment choice may not include any medication.

This is why I make the effort to get to know you by speaking with you at length, to get a clear understanding of who you are, what you're experiencing, and what your preferences are. That way, I can work with you to choose a medication that's suitable for you, and not just for your list of symptoms.
